P.E. & SPORT
'Together We Can Achieve.''
P.E.Our P.E. curriculum is broad and balanced. It is designed to be enjoyable, but at the same time develop and stimulate the students; physically, socially and emotionally.
It aims to provide an equal opportunity of learning experiences in games, gymnastics, dance, athletics and outdoor education. Lessons and schemes/units of work are structured to allow students the opportunity to gain knowledge and skills within a physical education environment. The learning environment is appropriate to the age, maturity and skill level of the students. Expectations are high but realistic in terms of achievement, discipline and behaviour. The atmosphere of lessons is such that all children gain confidence in physical activity in a safe environment where children's success is positively reinforced. |
Our LifeOur P.E. team are dedicated to giving our children here at Broadfield the best education.
This visible and collaborative nature of PE means that the subject has a strong role to play in helping children demonstrate their work on the fundamental values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty as well as mutual respect and tolerance for people of different faiths and beliefs. The new area of Personal Development, Behaviour and Welfare provides a great opportunity and focus for our PE Team to reach out and have impact across the school. For example, in the nutrition, fitness and healthy eating habits as well as emotional wellbeing of students (Change4life club). Hopefully from these experiences the childrens levels of self confidence, self assurance and knowledge of their potential to be a successful learner. This also includes looking at engagement in enrichment activities like extra-curricular clubs and activities to support healthy active lifestyles. It is important to our school P.E. Team to promote and highlight key British and School values to the wider ethos and culture of the school life. |
